We’re proud to share that Learnlife has been selected by HundrED for the third time as one of the most impactful and scalable innovations in education worldwide.
This consistent recognition, this time from a field of over 200 submissions from around the globe, is not only an incredible honour but a powerful affirmation of the work our learning community continues to do every day.
This recognition joins two previous honours from HundrED: our inclusion in the 2023 Global Collection and the Spotlight on Gamified Curricula in 2024.
Each selection has highlighted different aspects of what makes our learning community unique: a place where curiosity is nurtured, purpose is pursued and learners are empowered to lead their own path.
What is HundrED and why does this matter?
HundrED is a globally respected nonprofit based in Finland that identifies and celebrates education innovations with real impact.
Their annual Global Collection showcases just 100 education solutions that are already making a measurable difference and can inspire meaningful change at scale.
This year, Learnlife was featured in the “Spotlight on Child-Centred Learning,” highlighting innovations that uphold and evolve core Montessori principles, including learner agency, real-world relevance and a redefined educator-learner relationship.
At Learnlife, these aren’t just ideals. They are the everyday foundation of our model. Our selected innovation, Pathways to Possibilities, reimagines how learning is assessed by empowering young people to demonstrate growth and mastery through meaningful, relevant outputs, not just standardised testing.
What stood out in the Child-Centred Learning Spotlight was this reflection from the expert Advisory Board:
“Student agency is the key to Pathways to Possibilities, which will lead the learner to take charge of their learning process. The project helps to deepen engagements, equity and ability to showcase authentic learning.”
Building on that perspective, Stephen Harris, Co-Founder of Learnlife, adds vital context to what learner-centred really means in practice:
“One of the biggest misconceptions is that learner-centred education means students are left alone to figure things out. That’s not true.
Our educators work in teams, and their role is to scaffold learning in a way that allows students to grow in independence: students create artefacts—whether research projects, designs, or prototypes—that showcase their learning in a way that is meaningful to them and to the world.”
We’re deeply proud of this recognition, not just because it honours our model, but because it amplifies a global shift toward education that is more human, more meaningful, and more future-ready.
Learnlife’s Journey: From One Hub in Barcelona to a Global Model
When Learnlife opened its first Learning Hub in Barcelona, the goal was clear but ambitious: positively transform education for a world that’s changing faster than ever. That meant shifting from a standardised system to one that nurtures creativity, autonomy, purpose and lifelong learning.
Today, that vision has spread across continents. Our hubs, including the Urban, Eco, and Village Hubs in Barcelona, serve as living models and lighthouses for human-centred learning.
Through global partnerships, training programmes and consultancy work, Learnlife is now supporting hundreds of schools and educators in reshaping their learning environments around what really matters: the learner.
And this isn’t the first time our approach has caught international attention:
