When Learnlife's new Village Hub opened in Sitges, it felt like perfect timing for one family — a natural next step they’d been quietly hoping for.
In this short video, Toby, a Learnlife parent, shares why he wanted something different for his son: a learning experience that nurtures passion, emotional intelligence, and real-world readiness.
Toby's story is a powerful reminder of why learning environments matter, from the joy of watching children bounce out of bed excited for the day to reflections on the unpredictable future they’re preparing for - not just for academic success but also for building resilient, self-aware, adaptable human beings.

It was a beautiful opportunity. It was the perfect time for us when it opened in Sitges because Jasper had been in a local school in Sitges for five years, and I've always wanted him to be at Learnlife, so for us, it was the perfect opportunity.
And for me, I had a very strong image ever since my own experience at school of a Tuesday morning, not wanting to get out of bed because you've got double physics or double maths, and you know this kind of environment and like actually dreading school to me.
I desperately did not want my son to have that experience.
I wanted him to bounce out of bed in the morning, to look forward to going to school, to feel passionate about the things that he's doing. And I see that in the kids here.
When they're this age, they have a lot of energy and they need to move and they need to be helped to understand how they're reacting to things emotionally, how they're dealing with other people emotionally. And I think that that's something that they don't get, typically, at school because they don't have the resources, whereas here, you know, there's a real focus on it.
There's active time and space every single day for them to think about how they're feeling and how they're reacting to each other and how they can improve those things for everybody's benefit. I think that's just the most beautiful thing for the human race, for the planet, and for the future.
The only thing that's certain is change, and the best thing we can do for our children is to give them resilience and adaptability.
Because when they're coming out of this school system, we have no idea what they're going to go into. They have no idea what the job market is going to be like, half of our jobs are going to be taken by AI.
What world are they going to go into when they leave here? The answer is nobody knows.
The only thing we know is that it's going to be different. And if we prepare them for something which is not relevant when they leave school, then we're doing them a disservice.
If we can give them resilience, adaptability, and emotional regulation to come out of this system and find their way in whatever the world is, then we've done everything that we can for them.
